Reporting to Project Managers while on assigned projects, directs and coordinates production efforts through assigned supervisory personnel and subcontractors. With the guidance of the Project Manager, helps establish aggressive production schedules and budgets, and ensures that plans, goals, and requirements are being met. Achieves goals by collaborating with team members to establish plans for successful execution of work. The Superintendent 2 is a seasoned employee who establishes and raises the standard for the Superintendent role for the Company. Given the experience and proficiency in working as a Superintendent, the scope of responsibility for this role is commensurate with that of larger, more complex projects. With progressive training, development, and experience, the Superintendent 2 can be entrusted with Project Manager responsibilities for smaller projects under the guidance of seasoned Project Managers.
Supervises and coordinates activities of trade workers on an assigned project.
Responsible for assigning daily tasks to trade personnel assigned to him by the foreman. Review, understand, and implement daily plans to maintain the production schedule while minimizing the impact to the budget. Analyze and resolve day to day issues including personnel conflicts, safety concerns, quality issues, and material constraints. Assess areas of concern prior to assigning personnel to a task and review the concerns with the personnel to implement a strategy to ensure compliance with all technical and safety requirements. Submit condition reports either to the Foreman for review or directly to the Project Manager/Superintendant. Hold daily safety refreshers with assigned personnel and maintain QA documentation as required for tasks being accomplished. Attend daily on sight production meetings and report issues, concerns, and daily progress to the PM. Responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of department staff. The Supervisor will also perform other duties as assigned. This position will also assure organizational compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental, state, local and federal regulations.

High School diploma or GED required with three to five years related marine, shipyard or industrial experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Responsible for maintaining, supervising, and training experienced trade personnel required to accomplish all assigned and upcoming tasks. Ensure that all material required by the Foreman’s craft is requisitioned in a timely manner and on site in accordance with schedule requirements so that jobs are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensure required trade personnel, material, and equipment is available to support all ongoing and upcoming projects. Allocate supervision and trade personnel to each job. Determines appropriate procedures required to accomplish technical requirements of each job and relays this to the trade supervisors. Responsible for the timely requisitioning of material and equipment for each job. Coordinates with Project Manager and or Superintendant when required to ensure schedule requirements can be met and condition reports concerning technical requirements are properly submitted and priced. Assist in estimating both growth work and new work when required. Ensure supervisors are compliant with time keeping procedures. Coordinates with HR, Safety, QA, and the Production Manager to maintain all employee training and certifications. Responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of department staff. The Foreman will also perform other duties as assigned. This position will also assure organizational compliance with all safety, quality, environmental, and state, local and federal regulations.

Directs and coordinates production efforts of all shop including planning, scheduling, and ensures required equipment, material, and personnel are available to complete all assigned jobs within budget, on time and with no rework required
